How to carry out the cultural transformation prior to the digital one of our C-level execs?

In the wake of Dieselgate, where initial denial turned to acceptance and then to transformative action, our role was pivotal in reshaping VW’s corporate culture. We supported the training of leaders, executives, and financial officers in effective communication, often challenging their reluctance to acknowledge the situation. Our strategic guidance helped navigate this complex cultural shift, ensuring a cohesive approach across diverse global locations and mitigating risks to reputation and stakeholder trust. This journey from crisis to cultural reformation highlights the importance of transparent communication and strategic leadership in times of corporate upheaval.

After years of internal training and tensions, the VW Group has gradually shifted its business vision, aligning with the general consensus of overcoming the crisis and transitioning to a digital mobility model. This shift, focusing on services and patents, has breathed new life into the company, leading to a redefinition of executive values, strengthening of protocols, and increased reliance on financial dashboards for result orientation.

Our modest contribution, we believe, was in advocating for training in digital listening skills, responsible AI programming for self-driving cars, and resisting the urge to trivialise content, maintaining a firm belief that every company must have clear ethical protocols alongside reputation crisis management.
